A Sea of Purple: Our Walk to End Alzheimer's

We Did It!
On a foggy, misty Saturday morning (October 3rd to be exact), we laced up our shoes and joined the Walk to End Alzheimer's with our team, The Bloom Crew! This year we jumped into the fundraising efforts alongside our friends at Spring Ridge Assisted Living and Care Patrol Pierce County, and we are so excited to share that our team met our goal. Together we raised $2,047.02!
A big chunk of that money came from two fundraisers The Bloom Crew hosted at Spring Ridge Assisted Living. We played Bunco (if you've never played, it's a super fun dice game and things get competitive fast!) and raffled off tickets for gift baskets that were generously donated. These events were such a blast, and they brought in a lot of our fundraising total.
We are so thankful for everyone's generosity at each of our fundraising events. Every dollar, every share, and every kind word made a difference, and we really do appreciate you all so much.
A Perfect PNW Fall Morning
The day of the walk was such a perfect Pacific Northwest fall morning. Delphine and I met my mom Cindy down by Point Defiance, and we made our way over to Dune Peninsula to find a sea of purple! (Purple is the color associated with Alzheimer's and dementia, so everywhere you looked, people were wearing it proudly.)
We got to meet up with a bunch of people we know. So many people in our area are involved in advocating for the Alzheimer's Association, and seeing everyone come together in one place was really special. (We honestly have such a great community around us.)
Delphine's Big Day
Delphine loved the walk! She's still just a puppy though, and it really was a LOT of people. Once we slowed down and drifted out of the big crowd, she got so much more confident.
She ended up making friends with quite a few of the walkers who were in wheelchairs. She sat for them and lifted her paws up so they could pet her, so it's safe to say everyone had a pretty good time. (We might have a future therapy dog on our hands!)
Why This Walk Matters to Us
As a mother-daughter team that specializes in senior real estate, this cause is really close to our hearts. We work with so many seniors and their families who are navigating big life changes, and memory loss can make those transitions feel a lot more overwhelming.
That's exactly why we do more than just list and sell homes. From project management and downsizing help to coordinating estate sales and connecting families with trusted local partners (like our friends at Spring Ridge and Care Patrol!), we're here to guide families through every step with care, patience, and a whole lot of heart. Walking alongside this community on Saturday was a great reminder of why we love what we do.
Join The Bloom Crew Next Year!
